Hi everyone!
I really wanted to come up with a clever April Fools day post, but I seem to have come down with a cold over the weekend and my clever juices just aren't flowing right now. Luckily I have a few swatch photos lying around that I haven't posted yet, so I still have some stuff to post without having to endure swatching during this cold.
Personally, I usually don't like posts about just one polish, so you won't see many of those from me. That is unless I feel it's a really special one that deserves its very own post. Well, this is one of those polishes!
KBShimmer Hex Appeal is a navy jelly base with silver, holographic, magenta and blue hex glitters of varying sizes. There's tiny pieces of silver micro bar glitter in there as well.
I don't know if you guys remember, but back in February I participated in a Secret Valentine Swap with some polish friends, and my Secret Valentine was very good to me. All four of the polishes she sent me were on my wishlist at the time, and I've already posted about three of them (Illamasqua Raindrops and a-england Saint George & Dragon). Well KBShimmer Hex Appeal was the last one and honestly, I have no idea why it's been sitting in my to-swatch bin for this long! Shame on me!
This is quite easily one of the most special indie polishes I own. The blue jelly base creates so much depth that you just can't take your eyes off your nails when wearing this! I'm wearing it right now and I've stopped typing at least ten times just to stare at my nails!
Regarding the formula/application, Hex Appeal also gets top points. You'd think that with as much glitter as there is in this polish that it would be clumpy and hard to apply. But actually, it's just the opposite. I had no troubles whatsoever and the glitter all distributed very nicely on the nail.
I don't have a single negative thing to say about this polish. I suppose removal isn't going to be a walk in the park, but that's the price we pay for pretty much any glitter polish.
If you're in the US, KBShimmer polishes can be purchased from the KBShimmer website. For Canadian and international customers, you can get your KBShimmer fix from Harlow & Co. Not surprisingly, Hex Appeal is sold out right now, but you can keep up with Harlow & Co on Facebook to learn about future restock dates.
