Mixed Gradient Nails - China Glaze Texture Collection Nail Art

Good morning!

On Monday I showed you swatches of the China Glaze Texture Collection, and at the end of the post I mentioned that I had a nail design in mind to try with them. Well here it is!

I wasn't sure if the textured nature of these polishes would work well for gradients, but it actually worked really well! These China Glaze shades are really opaque too, so that definitely helped me to achieve a good gradient effect with minimal effort.

First I started with a base of China Glaze White on White so that the textured polishes would pop. Then, I chose China Glaze Of Coarse!, In the Rough and Bump & Grind from the Texture Collection for my gradient. I used my regular go-to gradient method which I posted a step-by-step tutorial for here. I also chose to switch back and forth between vertical and horizontal placements, which I think gave some added interest to the design.

Oh and a few people were wondering if the texture causes your nails to catch/snag on things. Well I've been wearing this mani for a couple of days now and interestingly enough, the rough/raised bumps eventually settle down and even out a bit so that they don't catch on anything at all. You can still feel and see the texture, but it's settled down enough so that you can wear it as a full mani and not be annoyed.

Thanks for looking!
