Hello to Kayla's faithful readers! I'm Rebecca from Rebecca Likes Nails and I'm psyched to be posting here on NBKS today.
As some of you may already know, Kayla and I actually live in the same city! It's pretty cool to have a fellow polish addict who you can actually see in person and get geeky about polish with. And we look out for each other too, when shopping...
"Kayla, do you need the new Orlys from Sally's?"
"Yup!"
"Rebecca, do you need those new Color Clubs?"
"Yup!"
It took me a while to do my manicure for this guest post. I didn't know how stressful it would be, posting on someone else's blog! What if I don't live up to Kayla's reader's expectations?! What if my mani isn't as perfect as Kayla's always are?!
After many hours of pondering and not much polishing, I finally just grabbed some colors and did something random, with intentions of turning it into animal print, of course - our mutual obsession.
Tada! Some abstract-ish splatter-ish pastel leopard print.
This manicure started out with a base of Essence - Movie Star, a nice dark gray creme.
Then, using a medium striper brush, I added three of my favorite pastel shades:
China Glaze - For Audrey
China Glaze - Dance Baby
Lime Crime - Lavendairy
To get the splattered/smeared look, I made sure to not have too much polish on the brush and just started to quickly brush in random directions across the nail. You're gonna get a lot on your fingers if you're messy like me, but once you start layering the colors I think it creates a really cool look!
Here's how it looked before adding the stamping:
I almost left it like this, but I knew I had to go for the animal print. It wouldn't be Rebecca-and-Kayla-appropriate without it!
I know Kayla doesn't stamp a lot, so I figured I would go for some Konad. This image is from m57, and I stamped using Konad Special White polish.
I finished with a generous coat of my favorite topcoat, Seche Vite.
Big thanks to Kayla for asking me to post here while she is livin' it up on vacation!
I hope you guys enjoyed this post as much as I'm sure Kayla is enjoying her trip.
Adios!
