Review & Swatches - Hard Candy Crystal Confetti Collection: Part I

Good afternoon!

How was everyone's weekend? Mine was pretty uneventful; I ran some errands on Friday, stayed in Saturday night and played video games with David and spent most of yesterday swatching.

Today I'm continuing on with more Hard Candy swatches! Exciting news regarding the Hard Candy polishes: they've arrived here in Canada! So I'll start purchasing the remaining shades that I wasn't sent for review and eventually I'll have part II posts for all of these collections. For now though, I'll be showing you the four polishes I already own from the Crystal Confetti Collection.

Fireworks is a magenta jelly base with magenta and blue glitters throughout. I've shown one coat over Pure Ice Flirt Alert. I'm sure many of you have already heard of the problems regarding this polish: the bar glitters curl. Even with top coat, they still stick off from the nail. It's unfortunate because aside from that, I really like this one!

Fun n' Festive is a blackened green base with green, gold and copper glitter pieces. I've layered this one over Pure Ice Wild Thing, but it honestly doesn't need to be layered. The formula was easy to work with and it needs 2-3 coats for opacity, depending on how thick you apply it.

Masquerade consists of lots of small black glitters with coppery red hexes scattered throughout. Even thought this one is super glitter-dense, I still wanted to layer it over another polish to see the effect. The base polish I chose is Pure Ice Home Run. The formula was really good and this is just one coat over the base polish.

Party Central features a clear base packed with different sized hex glitters in gold, blue, fuchsia and white. This one is definitely my favourite of the bunch! And I love it over this base colour (Pure Ice Jail Bait). The formula was great and this is just one coat over the base colour.

The Hard Candy Crystal Confetti Collection is available at Wal-Mart stores and each shade retails for $3.97 each. I actually thought the price would have been slightly higher here in Canada (it typically is), but they're actually the same price here! Score!
