Hey everyone!

I meant to post this yesterday, but we actually lost our power for a bit in the morning, which is when I usually write up my posts. I was busy during the afternoon so I just didn't get a chance. And oddly, when I got up this morning, I realized that the power had gone out again some time while I was asleep! It's obviously back now, but I'm not sure what's going on because the weather isn't that bad, just a little rain today and yesterday was clear and sunny. Weird.

Anyways, today I'll be showing you the Colores de Carol Spring 2013 Collection called Blooming Garden. I showed you some other Colores de Carol swatches not too long ago, so you can also check those out here.

Quick note about these: I have mini bottles and I hate taking photos with mini bottles, so I'm holding a clear top coat in all of my photos. No biggie, but I just thought I would point it out.

Anemone is a glitter topper polish that consists of white and purple glitters in a clear base. The purple glitters come in two different shades of purple - one slightly darker one and a lighter lavender holographic one. I've shown Anemone over Jade Licor de Amarena. The formula was really good and I didn't have to do any fishing for the larger square glitter pieces.

I will point out that my swatch has some bubbling, but that's entirely my fault. I keep old top coats around so that I can mix them together, add thinner and hopefully salvage them. But I mixed up and used an older one over this swatch, which caused some serious bubbling. Lesson of the day: keep your old and new top coats separate.

Butterfly Blush is a lightly shimmered white jelly base with bright teal and black glitters throughout. The teal glitters are more dominant and come in squares and circles, while the black glitters are all square. The formula was really easy to work with and my swatch shows three thin coats.

Carnation is a white jelly base with red and dark maroon glitter. The red glitters are all circles and squares, while the darker maroon pieces are all hexes. The formula was a little thick, but not difficult to work with. I've shown three coats in my photo below.

Daffodil features yellow square glitters and lime green hex glitters in a white jelly base. This one is my favourite from the collection! It's so pretty and the inspiration is definitely clear. The formula was great and my swatch shows three thin coats.

Darling Wildflower is a white jelly base with multi-coloured glitter in different shapes and sizes including hexes, stars, hearts and bars. I love the mix of bold multi-colours with the delicate white jelly base. The formula was easy to work with and my swatch shows three coats.

Peony consists of white, and pastel green pink and blue glitters amongst a white jelly base. This is another of my favourites! I really like the pretty pastel glitter pieces. The formula was good and I used three coats for the photo below.

Rainbow Garden is a multi-coloured glitter top coat. The glitters are mostly hexes of all the same size, but there's also scattered hearts and diamonds in there as well. I've shown 2 coats of Rainbow Garden over Jade Pimenta Doce. The formula was really easy to work with and although I didn't have to do any fishing for the diamonds, I didn't get any heart pieces in my swatch.

Overall, I really really like this collection! Carolina's polishes always seem to have the perfect balance of being soft and delicate, while also being fun. I'm a big fan of all of the polishes I've tried from her.

The Colores de Carol Blooming Garden Collection is available from the CdC shop and each shade retails for $9. Carolina also just released a Mother's Day Collection with some really pretty polishes, so be sure to check that one out at well.
